New Release of Avigilon Control Center High Definition Surveillance Software Offers Enhanced Functionality and Superior Performance

Avigilon Control Center 3.8 offers new features for improved ease-of-use and manageability

ATLANTA, GA (ASIS International 2008) - September 15, 2008- Today, Avigilon announced the release of Avigilon Control Center 3.8, the company's latest version of its award-winning High Definition (HD) surveillance software. Avigilon Control Center 3.8 comes with new features to improve ease-of-use and system manageability for enhanced functionality and performance. "Avigilon Control Center 3.8 continues to deliver the image quality expected of HD for full situational awareness, providing security professionals with the extra level of protection they want for live video surveillance and more importantly, uncompromised archived video," said Dave Tynan, vice-president of global sales at Avigilon. "With Avigilon Control Center 3.8, we have added new features that facilitate ease-of-use and manageability to deliver unsurpassed performance and superior overall protection." Avigilon Control Center 3.8 includes the following new features and benefits:

Advanced Thumbnail Search and Fast Forward Playback for Reduced Investigation Times
Delivering the industry's fastest HD video search, Avigilon's advanced video thumbnail search capabilities, based on real-time indexing, enable operators to quickly find scene changes, missing objects, and events. Fast forward playback enables faster than real-time playback of recorded HD surveillance data. Using these features, Avigilon Control Center operators can quickly and accurately navigate through large amounts of recorded HD surveillance data.

Integrated Mapping for System Layout
Avigilon Control Center 3.8 comes with an advanced mapping feature that enables operators to add a map overview into the software interface to illustrate the layout of cameras and servers for easy navigation of large surveillance system installations. Maps can be layered and nested allowing easy navigation through multi-story buildings and very large areas.

Rules Engine to Map Events to Actions
The rules engine enables operators to map any camera or system event to a set output action for faster identification and improved response times, facilitating system manageability for increased efficiency and reduced costs. The rules engine also enables users to map events within the system to relay outputs on Avigilon HD cameras and analog encoders to open and close gates or lock and unlock doors.

Configurable Privacy Zones Reduce Bandwidth Requirements
Using Avigilon Control Center 3.8, operators can mask certain zones within the surveillance area for improved privacy and greater caution (i.e. high security areas; bathrooms.) By only recording the most relevant surveillance data, this feature also reduces bandwidth requirements and storage costs.

Industry Analyst Frost and Sullivan's Dilip Sarangan suggests, "Avigilon has recognized that the emerging value of video surveillance is content management. This release suggests a stepped change in value and enables organizations to readily justify an ROI for HD video application."

Avigilon Control Center 3.8 with HDSM
Avigilon Control Center is the award winning high definition network video management software with High Definition Stream Management (HDSM) that delivers full situational awareness and detail, leading to faster response times, reduced investigation times, and superior overall protection. Offering the industry's greatest choice in HD cameras from one to 16 megapixels, Avigilon Control Center is available as stand alone software or pre-installed and configured on Avigilon HD NVRs. Avigilon Control Center is a secure distributed network platform with enterprise class reliability for capturing, managing, and storing high definition surveillance video while efficiently managing bandwidth and storage.
