Avigilon’s Analog Video Encoder Named to Security Sales & Integration Magazine’s 2009 “Top 30 Technology Innovations”

Avigilon analog video encoder hailed by top surveillance magazine for enabling organizations to cost-effectively transition to high-definition surveillance and for producing an image that improves on the analog source

VANCOUVER, BC – December 18, 2009 – Avigilon announced, today, that the company’s ENC-4PORT analog video encoder has been named to Security Sales & Integration Magazine’s “Top 30 Technology Innovations” for 2009 which appeared in the December 2009 issue of the magazine. Avigilon analog video encoders allow security professionals to integrate existing NTSC or PAL analog cameras into an Avigilon High Definition Surveillance System – enabling companies to realize the benefits of high-definition surveillance, while leveraging existing investments in security technologies.

“Avigilon has had one of the most unique lineups for some time now, going up to a 16-megapixel camera with JPEG2000 compression. But the company knows not every customer can afford megapixel video; that’s the reason for the ENC-4port analog encoder,” said Steve Payne, technical writer for Security Sales & Integration magazine. “Using the same JPEG2000 algorithm and HD stream management technology of its bigger megapixel brothers this cost-effective encoder provides a first step into the IP world and produces an image that improves on the analog source.”

“Avigilon delivers the industry’s only end-to-end surveillance system designed specifically for high definition performance,” said Dave Tynan, vice-president of sales and marketing for Avigilon. “A key part of our overall solution, the Avigilon analog video encoder enables organizations to cost-effectively leverage their existing analog cameras to realize the benefits of high definition surveillance. We are honored to be recognized by Security Sales & Integration Magazine.”
